VAK introduces 'FORTH product' VAKfashion

The VAK, center for the arts in Delft (the Netherlands), provides hundreds of courses in all arts disciplines. Short courses, long courses for all ages. The art market is changing rapidly. The VAK wants to be less financially dependent on municipal funding and needs to improve the relationship between costs and revenues over the next three years significantly. The VAK sees opportunities in the other groups (eg the target group 50 +), other disciplines and other product forms.
On September 10, 2009 the VAK launched an innovation project according to the FORTH innovation merthod to ideate artistic products and services with an internal core team of five people. In total more than fifteen others were involved. The new business cases were late 2009 presented to the entire workforce.
Nine months later, the VAK announced its first "FORTH product": VAKfashion. This new seed provides all amateur fashion designers and stylists in Delft and surrounding a full range of courses & Fashion Styling. Think of styling a photo shoot, learning how to read a pattern, discovering your own style, identifying trends and even develop your own collection. On 10/10/2010, hundreds of interested people at the VAK met with the teachers and course offerings of Fashion & design. There were fantastic catwalk shows from collections of teachers.
